okay so I'm really sorry to say this, but my family switched plans yesterday (my number is still the same, thank god).
so now we are a part of the at&t mobile network (this sucks, btw because practically everybody has t-mobile). our plan just ended this month and since costco was having a mother's day special (sign up with them, you get free sony ericsson walkman phones for the whole family), and my mom's phone looked and acted like it was run over by a car (no joke), my entire family (including my brother who doesn't even need a phone yet) got the same phones. my brother is so lucky (not that he can use it that much anyway, since not a lot of other 10 year olds have cell phones), but I remember the brick nokia phone I got when I was 12. well, times ARE different...lol

so, basically I can't talk to anyone who has t-mobile unless its after 9PM or on weekends. but if you have at&t or cingular, hey! lol no this really sucks because everyone I talk to has t-mobile. my dad is really anal about going over minutes, and since the whole family has to share 700 minutes, I really can't use my phone much during the day unless its an emergency. BUT! to mediate, I did get the text messaging plan for my phone, so I get 200 any-kine messages a month yay~ anyway the cool thing is that all the minutes you don't use carry over to the next month and so on and so forth. so you could really rack up those minutes if you are careful!

anyway, the phone is UBER cool and I spent practically 6 hours trying to figure out how to transfer mp3s to it from my computer and use them as ringtones. I was getting so frustrated with it, but for some reason when it comes to these kinds of things I don't give up until I get it to work some way or another. So, BIG tip to people who have the same phone that I do (I think Lawrence does, although the phone I got was just released two days ago according to the sales guy): when you edit/cut mp3s (using wavpad or some other freeware that you can get off the internet), if you wanna use them as ringtones they have to be under 25 seconds long. just to figure this out took me SUCH a LONG time, experimenting with lengths/file types/file sizes/yada yada yada... if you just wanna import them as mp3 songs, and not as ringtones, you can do that easily. the only problem, as with all damn SONY products, is that you need a memory stick in order to have enough space for all your songs/pictures/video...and it doesn't come with it. the phone memory has an okay amount of space (you can fit 15~16 25 second song clips in it), but if you're a big music person then you should get a memory card. what it DOES come with though, is sony walkman earbuds(headphones) which are super sexy hehe and, at least they give you the USB cable to plug into your computer (very useful).

anyway wow I went off on a long tangent there, but today is Mother's Day! Go hug your mothers and appreciate them for giving birth to you

oh and the job situation...well I didn't get a call back from that place I was supposed to, but I have like 11 applications sitting right next to me waiting to be filled out...I really need to study though. Finals are tomorrow!!! three exams = 6 hours on monday! how exciting... wish me luck!
